WHO

John Mawurndjul AM is celebrated for his mastery of rarrk (fine-painted cross-hatching), a tradition shared by generations of Kuninjku artists. This exhibition of bark paintings and sculptures, by one of Australia’s most groundbreaking contemporary artists, tells the stories of Kuninjku culture and the significant locations surrounding the artist’s home in western Arnhem Land.

NEED

The Museum of Contemporary Art Australia needed a responsive fast-loading website built from the design developed by MCA and Pollen, to present the works of indigenous artist, John Marwurndjul.

SOLUTION

Boojum's deliverables included:

  • deployment of a temporary landing page, to be replaced when the full site is ready to deploy.

  • Wagtail CMS content authoring

  • React responsive front-end, providing an experience that is rich in both desktop and mobile modes.

  • functionality and accessibility testing

  • server set-up and deployment within MCA’s current technical infra-structure

  • deployment of a stand-alone version of the website, i.e one that can function without internet connection.
