360 immersive experience allows virtual visits to country

Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, Barengi Gadjin Land Council and Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation came together to share the river’s stories and culture, bringing the past and present together.

NEED

COVID made it challenging to meet in person, but with this website's immersive environment, people can still get on country virtually.

Glenelg River Yarns is an interactive website which allows people to hear stories of the Glenelg River from Traditional Owners.

SOLUTION

The entire Boojum team was involved in the River Yarns 360 immersive experience, which incorporated drone footage to ‘fly in;’ to the locations, panoramic 360 photography, hot spot mapping, video and spoken word, song, info sheets, and visual effects in the landscape,  moving image backgrounds and sound effects.

The development of the website and its stories and information, is an ongoing project for the Gunditj Mirring Traditional Owners Aboriginal Corporation, Barengi Gadjin Land Council and Burrandies Aboriginal Corporation, who will keep adding stories and information to the website in coming months and years.
